Live From The Burg.com
Background
I'm Colin Lord and I work for Modea in downtown Blacksburg, Virginia doing web development. Weather isn't what I do professionally, but one of my two majors at Florida State University was in meteorology. I got into weather way before the internet even existed. I was 6 years old in 1992 when Hurricane Andrew hit my grandparents down in Miami. I watched the coverage of the storm on The Weather Channel and ever since then, I've been hooked. Hooked enough to mount about $1000 worth of equipment on the roof.
The Weather Station
Up on the roof is a Davis Vantage Pro Plus.
Building This Web Site
Having a weather web site is a combination of two of my biggest interests. While there's a lot of weather information here, it's a place for me to play with emerging web technologies like HTML5 or CSS3. I plan on creating a mobile version of the site sometime this year.
